Early Volumes
Journal of Co-operative Studies
The journal dates back to 1967, but for the early years some of the volumes are missing. We are in the process of having all the early volumes we have traced put into PDF files so that they can then be available free via this website. You can find an index of all the early volumes here.
The number of the volumes is rather complicated and has changed over the years. The Journals are numbered chronologically from No 1 in 1967 to No 123 in August 2008.
The publication was called the Society for Co-operative Studies Bulletin until the early 1980s when the name changed to Journal of Co-operative Studies.
In addition to this chronological issue number, in the mid 1990s a volume and issue number was added. This means that the August 2008 edition has two numbers: 123 is the chronological issue number; Volume 41 No 2 is the issue within the year number.
Volumes that are available thus far are:
Bulletins 1 (June 1967) to 20 (March 1974)
Bulletins 21 (August 1974) to 40 (December 1980)
Bulletins 41 (April 1981) to 60 (August 1987)
Journals 61 (January 1988) to 80 (May 1994)
